Room 6 — X-Ray
Updated:
X-ray suite — copy-the-sequence minigame gates the scan. Emergency Wing room with shared hazard pool (Fire, Bed Monster, Fainting).
Overview
Room 6 is the X-ray suite in the Emergency Wing (left corridor). Patients flagged for X-ray scanning come here for the copy-the-sequence minigame — a 4-color flash pattern that the player must reproduce to complete the scan. The minigame itself is forgiving compared to Room 8's 45-second surgery clock, but the room shares the same broad hazard pool as the other Emergency Wing rooms: fire events, fainted patients, and Bed Monster spawns under the patient bed.
Room 6 has a known Hider overlap stall bug per /wiki/enemies/hiders — multiple Hiders can spawn in overlapping states inside this room specifically. If you notice Hider stall behaviour during an X-ray, the cause is the spawn-overlap issue documented in the Hider entry. Finish the X-ray sequence first; handle any cascading emergency second.

Layout & Features
- X-ray scan equipment + patient bed
- 4-color flash sequence panel (the minigame interface)
- Treatment cabinet for cure-item access
- Single-patient slot (no parallel scans)
- Shared Emergency Wing hazard pool (Fire, Bed Monster, Fainting)
Best Use vs Risks
Pros
- ✓ Quick diagnostic for patients flagged for X-ray-specific symptoms
- ✓ Lower clock-pressure than Room 8 — forgiving minigame for new players
- ✓ Pre-stage Fire Extinguisher because Emergency Wing has Hider-spawn frequency
Cons
- ✗ Known Hider overlap stall bug specifically in Room 6 per /wiki/enemies/hiders
- ✗ 4-color sequence requires short-term memory — interruptions reset the recall
- ✗ Bed Monster spawn under the bed compounds the minigame interruption risk
- ✗ Fire-in-room events spread to adjacent rooms if untreated

Procedures Performed Here
Patient is routed to Room 6 based on intake diagnostic flagging (DNA analysis + symptoms point at X-ray-suitable conditions). On arrival, the 4-color flash sequence panel activates: the panel flashes a sequence of colors that the player must reproduce by clicking the matching color buttons in order.
Failure modes: clicking the wrong color OR letting too long pass between the sequence display and your input. Per AH content, the failure usually means restarting the sequence rather than killing the patient outright — Room 6 is more forgiving than Room 8.
Success completes the X-ray scan; the patient then transitions to standard recovery and can be discharged. Total time per patient varies based on minigame skill — practiced players complete the sequence in under 10 seconds; new players may take 20-30 seconds with retries.
Cross-event handling: if a Fire in Room fires mid-X-ray (see /wiki/events/fire-in-room), the priority is the fire first (sanity drain compounds quickly). Pause the X-ray, extinguish, resume the sequence. Same for Bed Monster spawns — apply Maple Syrup (see /wiki/items/maple-syrup) first if the red hitbox appears under the bed.
Patch History
Room 6 X-ray minigame mechanics have been stable since launch. The Hider overlap stall bug in this specific room is documented in /wiki/enemies/hiders as unresolved through the 2026-06-28 Fandom snapshot.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Copy-the-sequence — a 4-color flash pattern that the player must reproduce by clicking matching color buttons in order. Less time-pressured than Room 8's surgery sequence.
- Shift 3, alongside the Emergency Wing and Supplies Shop unlock per Dr. Harlow's dialogue (see /wiki/npcs/dr-harlow).
- Per /wiki/enemies/hiders, multiple Hiders can spawn in overlapping states specifically in Room 6 (the X-ray suite). If Hiders stall or behave unusually here, the spawn-overlap issue is the cause.
- Yes — Fire in Room is in Room 6's hazard pool. If fire fires mid-X-ray, prioritise extinguishing (sanity drain compounds) and then resume the sequence.
- No — Room 6 is in the Emergency Wing (left corridor) along with Rooms 7 and 8. Medical Wing rooms (1-5) are in the right corridor and use standard DNA-and-diagnostics flow rather than the minigame-gated approach.
- No — single-patient slot per AH content. One X-ray patient at a time.
- Per AH content, the failure usually means restarting the sequence rather than killing the patient. Room 6 is more forgiving than Room 8's hard fail-state.
- Whatever the patient's diagnostic flagged. Plus Fire Extinguisher for the room's hazard pool. Plus Maple Syrup if Bed Monster encounters are common on the current shift (see /wiki/items/maple-syrup).
